Director, Chartered Accountant

I started working 14 years ago for an accounting firm in Elgin doing year-end accounts, tax and vat returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. I then moved to work for Local Government in Aberdeenshire where I gained my Chartered Accountancy   qualification, I worked there for 9 years.

Recently I moved into the Education Sector in Inverness, Highland, where I split my time with A+ Accounts.

My differing careers have enabled me to work with a wide variety of clients from big to small. I love working with clients and that's why I decided to start my own accountancy practice providing affordable accounting to Inverness and Inverness-shire.

With our previous experience in both the finance and accountancy sector we are a the perfect combination to run A+ Accounts.

A little bit about us -

 

We married in 2015 and our beautiful daughter was born in 2018. Shannen is an Inverness local and Andrew is from from Elgin, and after many friends and family members came seeking financial advice or tax help we realised there was a gap in Inverness for an accountancy business that has time to get to know and be available for their clients.  We decided to go for it and opened A+ Accounts Ltd in July 2019.

I originally started my career within the administration and health sectors in 2014 and unfortunately was made redundant, which turned out to be a great opportunity for me to move into the admin and finance sector. Before joining A+ Accounts I had worked in an administration and finance role for local government in Banff, Aberdeenshire.

After Andrew decided to start his own accountancy firm, I decided it would be the perfect opportunity for me and my skills to help develop and grow the company. So that's what I do here, all the behind the scenes business elements to A+ Accounts.
